Taking Root: Regenerative Booster Program

Across seven communities in Kenya, something powerful is taking root.

In Spring 2026, WMO2H launched a Regenerative Agriculture Booster Program designed to help farming communities respond to growing climate pressures with practical, long-term solutions.

Through targeted seed support, livestock integration, and farmer retraining, the initiative is already helping restore soil health, strengthen food systems, and improve resilience for more than 20,000 people.

In many of these communities, farmers have spent years navigating drought, soil degradation, and unpredictable growing conditions. Regenerative agriculture offers a different path forward, one focused on rebuilding the land while improving livelihoods.

Farmers are adopting practices like composting, water harvesting, agroforestry, seed saving, and minimum tillage to create healthier and more productive farming systems.
One of the program’s strongest features is its focus on sustainability beyond a single season. By promoting seed saving, biodiversity, and reduced dependence on expensive external inputs, the initiative helps communities grow systems that can continue flourishing long after initial support ends.

Grounded in our base Regenerative Agriculture Curriculum and aligned with leading global regenerative frameworks, the program reflects a growing shift toward farming approaches that restore ecosystems while supporting rural economies.

The work is still growing season by season, farm by farm, community by community. But across Kenya, the seeds of long-term resilience are already in the ground.
