Stories of Strength
Mary's Resilience in Action

In our upcoming documentary, you’ll meet Mary, a remarkable mother of two and the official secretary of the Digital Women's Group in Kenya.

As part of her women empowerment group, she runs her own small business selling household items, a venture she nurtured with the help of micro-lending and water revenue sales. But her story goes beyond entrepreneurial success.

Mary’s journey took a transformative turn when she dove into our regenerative farming training, led by WMO2H Lead Agronomist, Patrick. Here, she learned sustainable farming techniques that not only provide nutritious food for her family but also offer a lifeline amidst the devastating effects of climate change.
Mary’s voice carries the weight of the group's countless shared struggles and triumphs. “Most of the members of the Digital Women's Group are single mothers, and others are widows. We come together to support each other as one,” Mary shared with us, her words resonating with the strength of their unity.

In the past few years, the devastating mixture of droughts and floods in her region destroyed food crops and swept away her kitchen and chickens. Yet, thanks to their reliable water source and newest regenerative agriculture farm, Mary’s spirit remains unbroken.

“We’re confident that we can expand our market, both within Kenya and abroad. We’re truly happy and now know a better way of farming,” she said.

Mary's story is a testament to the strength of women coming together to uplift one another, even in the face of adversity, and the power of water and agriculture.
