In the work that we do, there are moments that stay with you forever—this trip was filled with them.
We recently had the privilege of visiting four of our community water project sites in Kenya alongside a group of dedicated supporters. At one site, we were welcomed by over 100 community members. Further down the way, at another water site, more than 500 people gathered to greet us. I had never experienced anything like it. The energy, the joy, the sense of pride—it was overwhelming in the most beautiful way.
These gatherings were celebrations of something deeply transformative: access to clean water. But what moved me most were the voices of the women who stood to share their stories.
They spoke about the tangible changes such as time saved, improved health, children returning to school. But what struck me most was a single word that came up more than once: dignity.
Access to clean water has restored dignity to these women.
That truth has stayed with me. These are women who have always embodied strength, resilience, and unwavering love for their families. And yet, something as basic as safe, accessible water has lifted a burden that should have never been theirs to carry. The long, exhausting journeys to collect water are now a thing of the past, and in their place is opportunity, health, and renewed self-worth.
As our journey continued, we visited a water project site completed back in 2019. After seven years, the transformation was almost unrecognizable. The community had grown. Homes were stronger and more established. Children were in school. There was a sense of momentum and possibility everywhere you looked.
It was a powerful reminder that water is not just a resource—it is a catalyst. It changes everything. It lays the foundation for long-term community development, economic growth, and a better future.
Every time I travel to Kenya, I leave changed. Each visit brings a new perspective, a deeper sense of purpose, and a renewed commitment to this work.
To those who joined us on this journey: thank you for showing up, for witnessing, and for being part of these moments. And to all of our supporters, whether near or far, please know that this impact is only possible because of you.
I hope these stories move you as deeply as they have moved me. They remind us why we do this work—and they inspire us to keep going. To reach more communities. To serve more families. To ensure that everyone has access to safe, clean water and sustainable food systems that allow communities to thrive.
