Why Water?

Water gives life to children and communities in need.

Water Changes Everything. 1 in 10 people in the world lack access to clean water

We turn on a tap while many people around the world spend hours of their day fetching water, often times which is contaminated. Women and children walk miles for water that results in children missing school.

Access to clean water leads to improved health, kids being educated, food being grown, income being generated and sustainability being ensured.

Clean Water Transforms Everything

Diseases from dirty water clean kill millions of people each year. 289,000 children under 5 die each year due to poor water and sanitation. That’s 800 a day, or 1 child every 2 minutes.
Water gives way to growing food. Access to water leads to diversified diets, better health, income generation and sustainability.
Clean water helps keep kids in the classroom, especially young girls. The average distance that women and children in Africa walk to collect water is 3.7 miles per day. Access to clean water translates to more time in the classroom for children.
Surplus water translates to income generation. Clean water is a big commodity in many parts of the world. Projects and communities sell surplus water that generates new streams of revenue. This revenue helps provide basic necessities and education for children in the community.

How we do it

We have a local African Program Director on the ground who investigates, implements, and oversees all projects we support. Our first step is finding a partnered project that is already investing in the education and wellbeing of children. We then find a water solution that works best for their project/community and use local experts to survey, drill, and maintain all water projects. A water committee is formed at each project to oversee maintenance and fund allocation (a minimum 40% of funds to go to education and 10% to maintenance) ensuring clean water for future generations.

Access to clean changes everything for children, especially girls. Your investment in water is an investment in a brighter future for children.
